(Post)

7 JUN - 8 SEP
NORRÆNA HÚSIÐ

The multimedia art exhibition (Post) presents artwork created between 2005 and 2021 by mainly Nordic artists who question and reflect our time and our future. An underlying theme of these diverse works is the anthropocene - the most recent period in Earth's history when human activity has started to significantly impact the planet's climate and ecosystems. Most of the works depict post-industrial structures that raise questions about how we might think of coming times.

Curated by Ruth Hege Halstensen, this exhibition at the Nordic House takes on urgent questions in striking ways, featuring work by a stellar lineup of artists.

Artists: Nana-Francisca Schottländer (DK), Katie Paterson (GB), Marte Aas (NO), Rita Marhaug (NO), Anna Líndal (IS), Rúrí (IS)

Accessibility

Please note that access to the Nordic House is currently impeded due to outdoor construction work. Access to Hvelfingin is via a narrow walkway and some stairs. It is also possible to enter by lift via the main entrance but this involves travelling over a narrow walkway and a ramp through the construction area which makes access difficult for wheelchair users. Accessible toilets are on the main floor of the house. All toilets are for all genders. Admission to exhibitions in the Nordic House is free. The nearest bus stop is Háskólatorg. Bus stop Veröld is also close by, as is Háskóli Íslands and Íslensk erfðagreining.
