Flökt
Can we experience a dance performance in the same way as a waterfall?
FLÖKT explores our bodily connection with our surroundings, and the conditions of the imminent in a constantly changing world. It suggests that nature does not solely exist outside of us – we can sense and experience it through our bodies.
The audience is invited into a large silk dome; a constant state of transformation. Together, we undertake a journey into an interconnected poetic miniature of our world.
Visual artist Tinna Ottesen’s artistic practice deals with performative materials and their effect on space. She has been an active participant in the Icelandic performing arts, film, and design and visual arts scene for the past 20 years, working both in collaborative projects and with her own work.
Dancer and choreographer Bára Sigfúsdóttir has long explored the relationship between humans and nature, zooming in on significant topics through the moving body in a poetic, human, detailed and vivid manner. Her work has been presented widely, including at the Venice Biennale, Ice-Hot Nordic Dance Platform, Tanzmesse, Performatik festival, Moving Futures festival and Julidans.
