Grants awarded to festival projects
No less than three projects selected for the Reykjavik Arts Festival programme this year received generous grants from the Performing Arts Fund this year. The Minister of Culture, Lilja D. Alfreðsdóttir, awarded the grants at a festive event at Tjarnarbíó on Monday. In total, thirteen groups were awarded grants this time.
The projects that will become part of Reykjavík Arts Festival are "Eden" by Embla Guðrún Ágústsdóttir and Nína Hjálmarsdóttir, a large interdisciplinary exhibition by Ilmur Stefánsdóttir titled "Las Vegan," and finally, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir's row of duets between disabled and non-disabled dancers in a brand-new dance piece to be shown on the grand stage of the City Theatre.
The festival's programme will be announced in its entirety in early April, providing more details about these exciting new works that will premiere at the festival.
The Reykjavik Arts Festival extends heartfelt congratulations to all those who received funding!
